Roberto Lupi, CEO
Roberto Lupi is a Partner and the Chief Executive Officer of Residential Home Funding Corp. Mr. Lupi has a hands-on role in the company, with his main responsibilities in developing and implementing high-level strategies, setting the company’s direction and overseeing its financial and human resources and the organization at large.
Mr. Lupi was a founding partner of Home Owner’s Asset Co., a licensed mortgage broker located in Briarcliff, NY. In 2001, Home Owner’s Asset purchased Residential Home Funding, a NJ mortgage bank, allowing the new entity to originate, underwrite, approve and fund its own mortgage loans. In 2005, Residential Home Funding merged with the Mortgage Corner, a mortgage banker located in NJ. The combined company, named Residential Home Funding, is currently licensed in twelve states, and has over thirty locations throughout the United States.
Mr. Lupi began his career in 1993 with Trans America, directly upon graduating from college. He has also held loan officer positions with Resource One and UC Lending, both mortgage companies in the tri-state area. Mr. Lupi joined HSBC and due to his hard work and success, quickly became a branch manager and team leader. Mr. Lupi originated over $50 million of loans annually for HSBC. Mr. Lupi graduated in 1992 from Pace College with a B.S. in business and operations management. He is bi-lingual in both Italian and English. Mr. Lupi currently sits on the board of the Residential Home Funding Corp Foundation. Mr. Lupi currently resides in New York with his wife, Lisa Marie and their four children, twins, Andrew and Catherine aged 21, Anthony aged five and Gianna Maria aged two. Mr. Lupi enjoys coaching softball and basketball and in his spare time enjoys weight lifting, karate and football.
Julio Salazar, CFO
Julio A. Salazar, Jr. is a Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Residential Home Funding Corp Mr. Salazar is responsible for the company’s accounting and finances and heads the secondary market department. Prior to joining Residential Home Funding, Mr. Salazar was a founding partner of Home Owner’s Asset Co., a licensed mortgage broker located in Briarcliff, NY.
Mr. Salazar began his career in the mortgage industry as a loan officer at Wall Street Equity Brokers, rising up the ranks to Partner. Prior to his career in the mortgage industry, Mr. Salazar managed a large engineering project in Peru, South America. Mr. Salazar graduated in 1987 from Manhattan College with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Business. His is fluent in both Spanish and English. Mr. Salazar is an active member of the National Mortgage Bankers Association and NY Mortgage Bankers Association. He participates as a Rotarian with the Briarcliff Manor Rotary Club. Mr. Salazar has been married to his wife Felicia for fifteen years and together they have three children, Amanda aged thirteen, Ava aged ten, and Angelica aged six. Mr. Salazar enjoys coaching his daughter Amanda’s softball team, playing golf, tennis, basketball and boating.
Tom Marinaro, President
Thomas Marinaro is a Partner and President of Residential Home Funding Corp. Mr. Marinaro is responsible for the company’s sales effort. Prior to joining Residential Home Funding Mr. Marinaro was a founding Partner of the Mortgage Corner, a leading NJ mortgage banker with locations in Sparta, Rutherford and Wall Township. In 2005, the Mortgage Corner merged with Residential Home Funding creating the current company structure. Today, Residential Home Funding has established itself as a major presence in the mortgage industry, with over forty office locations.
Mr. Marinaro began his career in the mortgage industry as a loan officer with Greenwich Home Mortgage Corporation. He quickly became one of the top originators in the company and received recognition for being one of the company’s top producers. Mr. Marinaro graduated from Bergen Community College with a degree in hotel and restaurant management. He is President of the Bloomingdale, NJ Democratic Club.Mr. Marinaro has been recognized in the United Who’s Who in Leadership and Achievement for his outstanding achievement in the mortgage and finance industries. Mr. Marinaro has been married to his wife Barbara for seventeen years. Together they have two children, Jessica aged 19 and Erin aged 15. In his spare time, Mr. Marinaro enjoys golfing.
Maxine Smith, EVPO
Maxine Smith is the Executive Vice President of Operations. She oversees all of the departments within Operations to ensure uniform and streamline processes to help the flow of our loan files. She administers quality control, uniform best standards and strict compliance. Ms. Smith joined Residential Home Funding in 2009 and held positions for over 22 years in mortgage operations and branch development with US Mortgage Corp. and First National Funding. In 2000, Ms. Smith ran a branch of a mortgage banker where she learned firsthand the importance of clear communication between the branch office and parent company. That experience helped her understand what it takes to work with branch offices and provide them with the service they need and deserve. Ms. Smith knows how to make the transition to RHFC a positive experience. Ms. Smith truly understands the importance of relationships in business, and how important it is to maintain those connections as Branch Managers and Loan Originators move forward with a new company.
Frank Kuri, SVP Branch Development
Frank Kuri is the Senior Vice President of Branch Development. He joined Residential Home Funding with 26 years of experience in the industry. He began his career in 1985 as a Realtor at Coldwell Banker, where he earned his real estate broker/owners license and many sales achievement awards. He moved to Prudential, where he received his Life, Health, P&C and Series 6 licenses, specializing in Mortgage and real estate insurance related services, again receiving many sales achievement recognition awards. Mr. Kuri entered mortgage banking as a Loan Originator in 1991, mastering in-house, media driven originations and developing a large referral-based business with Realtors and Financial Planners, earning him #1 originator status at a major national mortgage bank. In 1999, he recognized the importance of the new branch concept in the mortgage industry and created a Branch Division as a new profit center, resulting in the opening of 45 new branch offices in 20 states, closing a consistent average of $750+ million per year. Mr. Kuri is a lifelong New Jersey resident and has been married to his wife Patricia for 17 years and together they have two children.
Dave Cronin, IT Director
Dave Cronin serves as Information Technology Director. Mr. Cronin joined Residential Home Funding in 2009, and is responsible for directing all technology initiatives for the company. He oversees all networking and support in corporate and branch offices, data security, telecommunications and the help desk. Dave has worked in IT for over 25 years, primarily in the financial, transportation and insurance industries. Before joining Residential Home Funding, Mr. Cronin held a number of IT leadership positions as Technical Services Director, Information Systems Manager, and Systems Engineer. Mr. Cronin received his B.A. in Business Administration from William Paterson University. In his leisure time, Mr. Cronin enjoys skiing, golf, hiking, fishing, and traveling.
Dana Kyriakou, Director of Marketing and Company Events
Dana Kyriakou is the Director of Marketing and Company Events. Ms. Kyriakou came to Residential Home Funding in 2002 and is also the Assistant to the President, Tom Marinaro. In addition, Ms. Kyriakou is responsible for marketing campaigns, publicity events, sponsorships, charitable events and contributions and more. Ms. Kyriakou implements the websites for all the company branches and mortgage loan originators, manages the advertising materials and business cards and oversees the Residential Home Funding storefront. In her spare time, Ms. Kyriakou likes to go to the beach and hang out with her family.
Barbara J. Scalera
Vice President of Training & Development
Barbara J. Scalera is the Vice President of Training & Development. As VP of Training & Development, Barbara develops a comprehensive training program, New Hire Orientation, as well as providing ongoing training for veteran employees and assist with the development and communication of strategic plans. Barbara began her career at RHF in November of 2010 as the Licensing & Compliance Officer where she was responsible for filing, processing and monitoring the licensing requirements for the Company; making the boarding process smooth and seamless for all new licensees. Barbara resides in Northern New Jersey and enjoys bike riding, tennis and relaxing with her family.
